With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of William “Billy” Edward Perrotti, Jr., 35 of Bristol, loving husband, son, brother and cherished friend to all. Billy departed this world on July 5, 2023, following a lengthy, courageous battle with cancer, leaving behind memories etched in the hearts of all who knew him. Embraced by family and friends, Billy's journey, which began on October 29, 1987, reached a peaceful conclusion.
Born in the company of motors, son to William Edward Perrotti, Sr. and Dawn (Calamaro) Sousa, Billy's enthusiasm for speed knew no bounds. He threw caution to the wind and flew by the seat of his pants. His spirited ventures into fast cars, snowmobiling, and motorcycle rides were testaments to his zest for life. A proud owner of a 1971 Nova and Harley Davidson motorcycle, which he cherished dearly and went on many summer excursions with his dad, Billy found solace in the revving engines and adrenaline rushes that came with them. Accompanied by his brother, Dominic, in the many vehicles Billy had, his love for the open road was matched only by the joy of shared experiences behind the wheel.
Billy grew up in Plainville and graduated from Plainville High School Class of 2006. A true trendsetter, known among his peers for his impeccable fashion sense and debonair charm, Billy was voted “Best Dressed” by his senior class. He was a good friend to everyone and loved spending time surrounded by family and friends, especially during the holidays. His unconditional love for his furry companion and best friend, Benny, knew no bounds. Benny stood by his side through thick and thin and offered him unwavering companionship.
Billy enjoyed times at the shooting range and was a Dallas Cowboys fan. A lover of boating and tubing, Billy found happiness on the water, surrounded by the beauty of nature. He also had a passion for hockey, finding excitement and thrills in the competitive sport.
A dedicated worker at Complete Concrete and later at the Department of Public Works for the city of Bristol, his commitment and diligence shone bright in all he did. He loved his jobs and enjoyed the many hours of operating equipment through his work days, finding solace in snow plowing. Yet, it was within the confines of a mechanic shop garage that Billy truly thrived. Surrounded by friends like Alex and Matt D’Angelo, he poured hours into fixing and tinkering, always ready to lend a helping hand or a joke to lighten the mood. His true passion was the time he spent at the shop. If Billy couldn’t fix something, he knew “a guy” who could.
Memories of adventures at Cory Zapatka’s family cabin in Mount Vernon, Maine, where quad riding and snowmobiling reigned supreme, will forever hold a special place in the hearts of all who shared those moments with Billy. His swift ascent into love with Krystal (Taylor) Perrotti, a union filled with affection and devotion, stands as a testament to his capacity for immense love. Although their time together was short, their love was larger than life.
In addition to his parents, his father, William “Bill” E. Perrotti, Sr. and his wife, AJ, and his mother, Dawn Sousa and her husband, Bob, Billy leaves behind his devoted and loving wife, Krystal (Taylor) Perrotti, his furry companion, Benny, his brother, Dominic Sousa, his grandmother, Ruth Perrotti, his mother-in-law, Trish Haynes, his father-in-law, Jeff Taylor, his brother-in-law, Matthew Taylor, his aunts and uncles, Michael Perrotti and his wife, Lisa, Denis Perrotti and his wife, Kelly, and his cousins, Gina Perrotti Strickland, Courtney Perrotti Bergenty, Erik Perrotti, and Grace Perrotti. Billy was predeceased by his grandparents, Michael Perrotti, Claire Miller and Joe Caissie, and his great-grandparents, Edward Szczepanik and his wife, Guida.
A celebration of Billy’s life was held on July 25, 2023 at the St. Joseph Polish Society in Bristol, where many family members and friends gathered to toast a Budweiser to Billy’s life and share in love, memories and burn outs.
As we continue to celebrate Billy's life, let us remember him for his boundless energy, infectious laughter, and unwavering loyalty. His spirit will live on in the stories we share and the memories we hold dear. May we ensure that his legacy of love and laughter endures through the passage of time. May his spirit soar in the heavens, surrounded by the melodies of timeless country tunes he adored, as we carry his memory with us always.
