Willard A. Screen, Sr., 71, of Bristol, passed away with his family by his side on Friday, December 10, 2021. He was the husband of Elaine (Richards) Screen, with whom he shared 45 years of marriage.
Born in New Britain on January 26, 1950, he was one of five children to the late Frederick and Elizabeth (Vaill) Screen. A 1970 graduate of Plainville High School, Bill, as he was known to many, went on to graduate from Goodwin Tech in 1972, and began his career in the printing profession shortly after. The closing of Lithomart in Farmington where he was working, prompted his interest in woodworking and cabinetry, both as a hobby and a career, working for various cabinet makers in Plainville and surrounding towns until his retirement. A self-taught jack of all trades, his home improvement adventures leave many stories for his family and friends to reflect upon with a smile.
In addition to his wife, Elaine, he leaves his son, Willard Screen, Jr. of Bristol; his siblings, Cindy Goodfield and her husband Paul Goodfield, Sr.; Harold Screen, and Lois Lovejoy; his grandson, Tyler Smith; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his daughter, Luci, his brother Philip, and his sister Joan.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association of Connecticut, 200 Executive Blvd, #4B, Southington, CT 06489.
Family and friends may gather on Friday from 5-7 p.m. at Plainville Funeral Home, 81 Broad St, Plainville. Words of remembrance will be shared at 6:30 p.m. For online expressions of sympathy, please visit www.PlainvilleFuneralHome.com
