He graduated from Webster City High School, where he played basketball and played in the marching band, Iowa State University, and Central Connecticut State University. In addition to his passion for cycling, he was an avid Manchester City football fan.
In his retirement, Wayne continued to enjoy running, cycling, and traveling abroad and within the U.S. with Julie.
