Tina Lee Bard, 49, left this earthly life unexpectedly and far too soon on Wednesday, September 10, 2025. Tina was a beloved mother, daughter, sister, friend, and bright spirit who brought warmth, laughter, and light into every life she touched.
Born in Bristol on December 12, 1975, one of three children to Judy (Collin) and the late Gerald Bard, she was raised and educated in Plainville, and was a graduate of Plainville High School, Class of 1994. She jumped into the working world with the same energy and heart she brought to every chapter of her life. Her deep love for animals led her to her job with the Town of Plainville Animal Control, where she found immense joy in caring for creatures great and small. A woman who loved her family deeply, Tina’s greatest joy and proudest role was being a Mom to her son, Ty. While raising Ty in Kensington, she opened a home daycare, creating a nurturing space not just for her own child, but for many others. For over 15 years, Tina worked in various capacities for the City of New Britain, including roles in the Health Department and City Clerk’s Office. She brought her trademark optimism and humor to every job she held, and formed close bonds with the people she worked with along the way.
More recently, Tina embraced a new chapter in Caribou, Maine, where she surrounded herself with the animals she adored and found peace near the ocean, her true happy place. Whether she was playing at the beach, hanging with her goats in her yard, or laughing with friends late into the evening, Tina found beauty in every day and joy in the little things. She lived a life full of love, optimism, and laughter, always finding the fun in every moment and bringing others along for the ride. Her absence leaves a hole that words cannot express and she will be missed beyond measure by her family and the many friends she made along her journey.
In addition to her mom, Judy, she leaves her son, Tyler Babowicz and his wife Kayleigh; her brothers, Daniel Bard (Sarah Lamothe) and Dean Bard (Shannon) along with many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and countless friends.
In lieu of flowers, Tina may be remembered with contributions to the American Cancer Society at http://www.cancer.orgor to an organization benefitting animals.
Family and friends may gather on Thursday, September 25, 2025 from 5-7 p.m. at Plainville Funeral Home, 81 Broad St, Plainville. Words of remembrance will be shared at 7 p.m. led by Life Celebrant Jesse Gnazzo. For online expressions of sympathy, please visit http://www.PlainvilleFuneralHome.com
