Thomas E. “Tom” Spotts, Jr., 63, of Plainville, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, May 31, 2024, leaving his family and friends heartbroken. Born in Hartford, CT on December 9, 1960, son to the late Thomas E. Spotts, Sr. and the late Carol A. (Griggs) Thomas, Tom led a rich and fulfilling life, leaving behind a legacy of kindness, loyalty, and dedication.

Growing up in Plainville, Tom was a graduate of Plainville High School Class of 1979, where he forged lasting friendships that remained close to his heart throughout his life. Tom's professional path led him to a successful career at Covanta Energy Corporation in Wallingford, later transitioning to NAES Corporation in Hartford, where he excelled as a supervisor, earning the respect and admiration of his colleagues. Tom was known for his strong work ethic and business acumen, always striving for excellence and expecting the same from those around him. He had a passion for delegation and held high expectations for his employees, pushing them to achieve their full potential. Tom retired after many dedicated years to his profession.

An avid motorcycle enthusiast, Tom found joy and freedom on his beloved Harley Davidson, cruising the open road with a sense of adventure and spirit. His love for the outdoors extended to fishing, a cherished pastime he shared with both family and friends. Tom will always be remembered for his love of classic rock music, often tuning in to radio station 105.9 to enjoy his favorite tunes. His passion for music brought joy to those around him and created lasting memories for his loved ones.

With a strong-willed and outgoing nature, Tom was known for his willingness to lend a helping hand to those in need. His loyalty and dedication were unwavering, making him a pillar of support for those around him. Tom will be remembered for his independent spirit, unwavering love for his family, and his presence will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Thomas is survived by his loving wife, Deborah (Plourde) Spotts, who shared in his joys and triumphs throughout the years; his sons, Travis Spotts and his partner, Heather Thompson, and Tyler Spotts; his grandchildren, Easton and Emberly Spotts, Carter Dube, and Jocelyn Kelley; his sister, Faith (Spotts) Tonnotti and her husband, Joseph; and many nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
