Thomas M. Morgan, 69, of Southington, formerly of Plainville, passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 21, 2023.
Born in Bristol, CT on January 22, 1954, Thomas was one of thirteen children to the late Robert R. and Theresa C. (Sullivan) Morgan. Tom was an avid outdoorsman, working several years with his father clearing land, selling firewood and just about anything that needed to be done to help. He loved fishing at the Farmington River and hunting deer in Vermont. Tom was the family gardener, tending to the vegetables and flower beds, but especially loved his hobby as the beekeeper of the beehive he had in his youth. Although Tom never had any kids of his own, he was the very special “Uncle Tom” to many nieces and nephews who he cherished very much.
Tom’s family would like to send a special thanks to Hartford Healthcare at Home Hospice Team for their care and support during Tom’s final days.
Tom is survived by his significant other, Denise Carpentier, of New Britain; and his siblings, Margaret Shover, of Plantsville, Sally Garuti, of Cumming, GA, Catherine Shover, of Southington, Robert Morgan Jr., of E. Longmeadow, MA, David Morgan, of Virginia, Will Morgan, of New Hampshire, and Stephen Morgan, of New Hampshire. He was predeceased by his siblings, James Morgan, Russell Morgan, John Morgan, Joseph Morgan, and Betsy Tenney.
Per Tom’s wishes, his family will celebrate his life privately. The staff at Plainville Funeral Home, 81 Broad St., Plainville extends their gratitude to the Morgan family for their continued trust they have placed in us to take care of their family.
