Theresia (Huppenberger) Boutwell, 85 of Bristol, peacefully left this earthly life on Thursday, January 16, 2025. Theresia was a remarkable woman who embodied strength, resilience, and a loving spirit throughout her 85 years.
Raised and educated in Germany, Theresia developed a strong work ethic that she carried into adulthood. After making her way to the United States in 1962, she raised her six children while working tirelessly at North Street Market in New Britain, and retired from Stanley Works after more than 20 years. She found joy in the little things in life, whether it was hunting for hidden treasures at tag sales, taking daily walks with her beloved dog, Bailey, enjoying friendly board game competitions or card games with her dear friend Carol, or going on camping trips filled with laughter and love with her family, she created countless happy memories that will live on in the hearts of those who knew her. A devoted grandmother and a faithful Catholic, her family and her faith were the center of her life. She will be missed dearly, leaving a legacy of strength and love.
She is survived by her children, Frank Boutwell and his wife Joanne, Joel Boutwell and his wife Susan, James Boutwell, Alex Mueller and his wife Linda, and Daniela Jones and her husband Richard; multiple grandchildren and multiple great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her son, Brien Boutwell, her sister, Thea Huppenberger, and her granddaughter Cassandra Boutwell.
In lieu of flowers, Theresia may be remembered with contributions to the Alzheimer’s Association of Connecticut, 200 Executive Blvd, #4, Southington, CT 06489 or http://www.act.alz.org
