Susan (Stark) Kensel

Susan R. Kensel (Stark), 77, went to her heavenly home  on August 19.  She was born on December 10, in Brattleboro, VT.  Growing up in Bristol until moving to Plainville to raise her family.

Susan dedicated over 30 years to her career as a nurse's aid, where her compassion and care deeply touched her patients and colleagues alike. She spent a lifetime of summers camping in Niantic & Rhode Island, where she spent her days at the beach with family & friends. Later on she started vacationing at Hawks Nest Beach in the fall with her lifelong friend Gloria, which became a tradition she shared with her own family. She was an avid reader & lifelong soap opera watcher, who loved Koalas & cats, and loved listening to some of her favorites, James Taylor & Kenny G.

Susan is survived by her son, Jeffrey Stark; daughter and son-in-law, Jessica and Ricky Graff; grandchildren Nathyn, Sofia, little Ricky, and Lianna; sister, Cynthia Collins; Godson, Devin; extended family members Nila, Kenny, Mara, and Mia; best friend, Claire; niece, Katie; nephew Tommy and many other family & friends. She was preceded in death by her parents Robert & Marjory (Shattuck) Stark; her aunt, Hazel “Auntin” Shattuck; sister, Beverly Yandow; sister-in-law, Judy (Kensel) Server; nephew, James Longfellow; and former husband, William “Skip” Kensel.

A private service will be held to honor Susan's life. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to ARF Animal Rescue in Terryville.
