Susan DeMartinis Obituary

Susan (Colagiovanni) DeMartinis, loving mother and sister, of Bristol, passed away unexpectedly from injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident on Monday, January 2, 2023. She is now reunited with her beloved husband, best friend and soulmate, Marc P. DeMartinis, Sr., who predeceased her in 2001.

Susan was born on November 11, 1965 in New Britain, CT daughter to the late Anthony C. Colagiovanni, Sr. and the late Carol L. (Rizzo) Fern. She grew up in Plainville, attended local schools and graduated from Plainville High School. After the unexpected passing of her husband, Susan quickly became a strong-willed, determined single mother and raised two respectful and successful sons, Marc and Dean, always doing her best to be there for them through life’s obstacles. She proudly supported them through their sports endeavors over the years, attending their games or activities as their biggest fan. Susan had a bold quirky personality and loved to socialize with others. She had a knack for cooking and experimented with different recipes in her kitchen to share with others. In addition, she loved to go shopping. Above all, she cherished the time spent surrounded by her family and looked forward to family gatherings, no matter the time or distance spent apart. Leaving her loved ones tragically too soon, may the memory of her be filled with happy and fun times.

Susan is survived by her sons, Marc P. DeMartinis, Jr. and Dean DeMartinis; her brother, Anthony Colagiovanni, Jr. and his wife, Kelly; her sister, Krystal (Colagiovanni) Polito and her husband, Jeremy; her nephews, Anthony III, Nicholas, Marc, Jake, Dante, Jordan and Jayden; her nieces, Sunny and Hailey; her sister-in-law, Mona (DeMartinis) Provenzano and her husband, Lennie; her brother-in-law, Jon DeMartinis and his wife, Kathy; her mother-in-law, Natalie DeMartinis and her late husband, Mario; and many friends and extended family members, including stepparents and stepsiblings.
