Stanley P. Grandy, 87, of Rocky Hill, formerly of Plainville, passed away peacefully on March 30, 2022 at Saint Francis Hospital surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband to Joan E. (Fallo) Grandy and together they shared 66 wonderful years of marriage, full of love and laughter.
Stan was born on May 12, 1934 in New Britain, CT son to the late Peter and Wladyslawa (Mynarski) Grendzinski. He married his sweetheart Joan on June 18, 1955 and together they raised a beautiful family in Plainville. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather and enjoyed his time spent surrounded by his family, especially during the Holidays when they all gathered together. He loved spending time with and playing with his great-grandchildren, as they brought him much joy and kept him on his toes. In his free time, Stan enjoyed rooting for the women and men’s UCONN basketball teams, completing word and crossword puzzles, and spending time at the casinos, Foxwoods and Mohegan Sun. He was formerly employed by Stop and Shop as the meat manager where he spent many years assisting customers and creating bonds within the workplace. The patriarch of his family, Stan will be missed dearly as his family cherishes the memories they have shared over the years.
In addition to his wife, Joan, Stan is survived by his daughter, Debbie Grandy, of Winsted; his son, Peter Grandy and his fiancée, Gabriella Albini, of Farmington; his grandson, Alexander Grandy and his wife, Annie, of West Hartford, Nicholas Grandy and his wife, Chrissy, of NC, and Adam Bell, of CT; his granddaughters, Lauren Grandy and her partner, Kevin Boylan, of Farmington and Rachel Kimber, of MA; his great-grandchildren, Brady and Braelyn Kimber, of MA and Jackson and Hannah Grandy, of West Hartford; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his 3 sisters, his 2 brothers, and his 2 nephews.
