Sheldon Robert Corrow, 85, of Southington passed away on Friday January 16, 2026 at the Hospital of Central CT New Britain following a lengthy battle with Glaucoma and Parkinson’s disease. He was born in Caribou, Maine on October 25, 1940. He came to Connecticut in the early 60’s after completing a stint in the Army National Guard.
He began a life in sales serving in many capacities in many businesses most notably office furniture and decorating with Ehrlich Business Furniture. From there, an unexpected change to Loan Originator for the McCue Mortgage Co. from where he retired. His kind, gentle and professional manner earned him many friends along the way.
He loved the outdoors both recreating in it, and photographing its beauty and creatures. He loved hiking, biking, and rollerblading with his lifelong friend Steve for years, and then when Parkinson’s limited his abilities he kept exercising at the gym where he met and befriended his faithful gym buddy Dave.
His wonderful sense of humor and willingness to lend his amazing handyman skills to anyone who needed them, endeared him to many. He became a bit of a star at Hospital for Special Care doing TV segments for Parkinsons, and the hospital and also for the company NexStride which made a device that helps patients who suffer from the freezing of gait associated with the disease. He was a wonderful husband and an exceptional dad who despite his loss, and struggles always took an interest others.
