Sharon Ann (Zwick) Jalowiecki, 79, adored resident of Village Green in Bristol, formerly of Plainville, passed away peacefully on Friday, August 29, 2025 at Bristol Hospital following a brief illness.
Sharon was born on November 27, 1945 in New Britain, CT daughter to the late Dr. Andrew Zwick and Mary Ann (Vaness) Zwick. A mathematics teacher by profession, Sharon possessed a remarkable talent for numbers and a passion for imparting knowledge. In her community at the Village Green, she became an active member, contributing her organizational skills and leadership to the Resident Council, overseeing community garden projects. She had a remarkable ability to keep track of life’s intricacies, meticulously documenting every detail with her notes and schedules. Proud member of Faith Bible Church, Sharon was devoted to her faith, often found reading the Bible and in prayer, and she cherished her time spent with her family, especially her granddaughters.
Sharon found joy in the simple pleasures of life. She spent countless hours tending to her cherished garden, where she created a sanctuary filled with vibrant blooms and a haven for birds. An avid birdwatcher, she delighted in the beauty of nature, taking solace in its serenity. In addition to her love for the outdoors, Sharon had an artistic spirit; she expressed herself through painting and crocheting, producing beautiful pieces that will be treasured by her family. Her talent also soared in the kitchen, where she became renowned for her legendary gingerbread cookies, a family tradition for nearly sixty years. Her recipe, now lovingly passed to her granddaughters, will continue to bring sweetness to family gatherings.
Those who knew Sharon will remember her vibrant laughter echoing in the hallways, her love for Elvis Presley’s music, and her warm, inviting meals—Chinese being her special favorite. Her great sense of humor and her ability to brighten the lives of others made her an exceptional friend and roommate at the Village Green. She had an extraordinary way of looking out for her companions, always putting their needs before her own.
Sharon's compassionate nature extended to her advocacy for veterans, as she was a dedicated supporter of veteran’s causes, particularly the Paralyzed Veterans of America. Her unwavering commitment to those who served was a testament to her generous and selfless spirit.
Sharon is survived by her brother, Andy Zwick; her nephews, Chris Gaetano and Aaron Gaetano; her daughter-in-law, Nancy Jalowiecki Sullivan and her husband, Mike; and her beloved granddaughters, Kaya Jalowiecki Sullivan, Navah Jalowiecki Sullivan, Molly Sullivan, and Keeva Sullivan. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her son, Edward Matthew Jalowiecki and her sister, Andrea “Angel” Gaetano.
