Sharon (Harris) Curtis, 76 of Plainville, departed this earthly life on October 23, 2024 at her home. She was the wife of the late Plainville Police Sgt. William H. Curtis.
Born in the Bronx, NY on May 19, 1948 to the late James and Evelyn (Watters) Harris, Sharon graduated from Grace Dodge High School and was forever proud of her Bronx upbringing. A devoted mother, Sharon navigated the challenges of raising her three sons with strength, wisdom and love. She embarked on a meaningful career at the Eye Center of Grove Hill in New Britain for over twenty years, touching the lives of many with her kindness and compassion. She found the greatest joy in her role as a grandmother, cherishing moments spent with her grandchildren and great-grandson who brought light and happiness to her world. Her resilience and positive spirit endeared her to all who knew her, leaving a legacy of love and nurturing care.
Sharon leaves behind her three sons Dr. Shawn Curtis, Psy.D., William H. Curtis, and Kevin R. Curtis, all of Plainville; her grandchildren Casey Curtis, Caitlyn Gregory, and Ava Curtis, and one great grandson Chase Curtis-Larson. She also leaves her siblings Sheila Savage of Newington, Stephanie (Ronnie) Lamontagne of Berlin, William Harris (Jen) of Colchester, Susan Behling (Steve) of Durham, and Richard (Victoria) Harris of Berlin, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was also predeceased by her brother James Harris formerly of Manchester, and her dear nephew Chip Schofield, formerly of Naugatuck.
