Samuel George Obituary

Samuel John George, 82, of Plainville, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 9, 2022, at the Hospital of Central CT Bradley Campus.
Samuel, affectionately known as “Sunny” or “Sam,” was born on June 20, 1940, in Yonkers, New York, son to the late Jacob John and Ida (Brunette) George. Samuel proudly served our country in the United States Army 82nd Airborne Division and was honorably discharged after serving a tour of duty. He lived in California and Arizona, then returned to his hometown New Britain where he resided for several years before making his forever home in Plainville. As an avid hunter and fisherman, he was a Berlin Fish and Game member in his younger years. More recently, Samuel was an active member of The Improved Order of Red Men in the Plainville-Southington Tribe. He was a motorcycle enthusiast and a lover of animals. Samuel was a gifted, intelligent, worldly individual who could live off the grid or anywhere else. He will be missed dearly but his family takes comfort in knowing that his battle is over and he is now at peace.
Samuel leaves behind his sister, Martha Trask, his niece, Sandra Trask-Tyler and her children, Taryn and Tia Tyler, his niece, Cinthia Trask, his niece, Susan Trask and her significant other, Derrick Fitzgerald, his niece, Cheryl Desiato and her husband, Peter, and their children, Anthony and Julia Desiato, and his niece, Sarah Bandzak and her husband, Joseph.
Samuel’s family would like to thank the Hospital of Central CT Bradley Campus third floor staff and the nursing team for their outstanding care they provided to Samuel during his time of need.
