Rossetta Ramirez Obituary

Rossetta A. (Field) Ramirez, 76, of New Britain, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, June 25, 2026, at The Hospital of Central Connecticut, New Britain General Campus, following complications from a massive heart attack.
Rossetta was born on October 30, 1949, in Gardiner, Maine, the beloved daughter of the late Earl and Marion (Tobey) Field. She spent her early childhood in Maine. At around the age of 10, her family relocated to Connecticut, where Rossetta worked alongside her siblings, helping support the family by working in the tobacco fields. Coming from a large family with very limited means, Rossetta and her siblings formed strong, unbreakable bonds during those early years that remained with them throughout their lives.
Rossetta continued her education and later began a career as a waitress. Known for her warm personality and hardworking nature, she was well-loved by both her coworkers and the many loyal customers she served over the years. She worked at Concord Luncheonette, Effie’s Restaurant, and Parklane Pizza, where she built lasting connections with those around her.
Rossetta was a vibrant and spirited woman with a heart of gold. She had a way of lighting up every room she entered, known for her bold sense of style, colorful fashion choices, and infectious sense of humor that brought joy to everyone around her. She enjoyed playing cards, a competitive game of Monopoly, and making trips to the casino, where she always found excitement and fun.
A devoted and cherished mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and sister, Rossetta leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, strength, and unforgettable memories. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew her.
Rossetta is survived by her daughters, Cindy Mendez and Tina Montez; her son, Anthony Montez; her grandchildren, Marco, Jeffrey, Marion, Leeowena, Luis Jr., Jessica, Anthony and Briana; many great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews, great-nieces and nephews, and extended family members, along with her sisters, Deborah Howe and Star Cooper and her brother, Chris Field. She was predeceased by her brothers, Clayton, Bobby, and Raymond Field and her sister, Rita Fennell.
Services in celebration of Rossetta’s life will be held privately. There are no calling hours. The staff at Plainville Funeral Home, 81 Broad Street, Plainville extend their appreciation to Rossetta’s family for their trust.
