Ross Z. Zettergren

Ross Z. Zettergren, 29, of Plainville passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 12, 2022, surrounded by his family and friends at Hartford Hospital, following a tragic accident.  A lifelong resident of Plainville, he was the youngest of three sons to Karel (Bradt) and Charles Zettergren, III. 

Ross was a graduate of Plainville High School and attended Western Connecticut State University. He began his career working in the trades as an electrician where he was known for his impeccable work and ability to establish quality relationships with his peers and customers. A loyal friend and fierce competitor, Ross will also be remembered for his success as a multi-sport athlete and always going above and beyond for his family and friends in times of need.   He embraced each day, full of infectious energy and his ever-present smile, and continued to give the gift of life to others through organ donation.   Missed beyond words by his family and infinite circle of friends, he leaves a legacy of love, laughter and many precious memories.

In addition to his parents, Karel and Chuck and his wife Kirsten, he is survived by his brothers, Cole and his girlfriend Melissa and Dane, his wife Nina and their sons Xander and Braxton; his step brother and sister, Joseph and Nina Capozzi; many aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family and lifelong friends that he considered family.

In lieu of flowers, Ross’ love for sports may be remembered with contributions to the Plainville Community Schools Athletic Department, c/o Laurice Doucette, 47 Robert Holcomb Way, Plainville CT 06062; where a scholarship will be made in his memory for a graduating student-athlete.

A service in celebration of Ross’ life will be held on Thursday at 11:00 a.m. at the Congregational Church of Plainville, 130 W.
