Ronald Alexander Rutkowski, 79 of Burlington, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday October 19, 2024. A loving husband, father and grandfather, he was the husband of Helena (Kazanecka) for 47 years.
Born in New Britain on November 1, 1944, he was one of two children to the late Alexander and Pauline (Janick) Rutkowski, and was raised and educated in Unionville, attending Farmington schools. In 1977, Ronald married the love of his life, Helena, and worked tirelessly to provide for their family. A hardworking and successful businessman, he followed in the footsteps of his grandfather as the 3rd generation owner/operator of Rutkowski Paint and Hardware in New Britain, continuing a family tradition that has spanned more than 100 years. Additionally, Ron was a licensed plumber and heating contractor, passing on his trade expertise to his sons. Outside of work, he found solace in nature, often enjoying camping and fishing with his family in their younger years. Ronald will be deeply missed and forever remembered for his steadfast dedication to his family, business, and community.
In addition to his wife, Helena, he leaves his children, Laura Pinette, Ronald Rutkowski, Jr. (Susan Nyerick), Robert Rutkowski (Heather Porch), Linda Chapman (Eric), Axel Rutkowski and Danuta Rutkowski. A devoted Dziadzi, he leaves many grandchildren and great-grandchildren and extended family. He was predeceased by his sister, Diane Harrigan.
