Roger Lawrence Guimond, 84, of Bristol, passed away Friday July 31, 2020 at Hartford Hospital surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of Patricia (Blair) Guimond.
Roger was born January 20, 1936 in Fort Kent, Maine a son of the late Camille and Eva (Pelletier) Guimond. He was a graduate of E.C. Goodwin Technical School in New Britain and had worked as a toolmaker at Federal Machine and Tool retiring after many years of service. Roger was a hardworking, hairy man who had more love in his heart for his family than ever. He grew up in a French household where he then fell in love with a beautiful woman named Patricia. Together they formed a life of wholesome happiness as they raised their two boys, Jeffrey and Kelly. Roger was a handyman of all sorts. He knew anything and everything, no matter the topic he always had a solution. Roger may have been a small figured man but he never let that get to him, especially when choosing vehicles. Roger was a strong soul. Given the hardships he had encountered through his 84 years he never lost sight of the important things, family. He kept that reputation all the way till the end. After being told he was going through an extensive surgery the next day, he spoke only of positivity. He fought for his life with all he could until he heard someone calling him home. The hole he leaves in his family’s hearts will never be filled.
He leaves behind his wife, Patricia Blair-Guimond; sons, Jeffrey and his wife Deb and Kelly Guimond; Grandchildren, Evan, Tyler, and Meghan Guimond; and all the other souls he has touched.
Funeral services for Roger will be celebrated privately. The staff of Plainville Funeral Home 81 Broad Street extends their gratitude to the Guimond family for their trust.
