Robert Edward Young

Robert Edward Young, 69 of Farmington, passed away at his home on Saturday, November 11, 2023.  He was the best friend and life partner of Marilyn Young.

Born in Southington on March 21, 1954, he was one of six children to the late Charles and Leona (Baker) Young.  Raised and educated in Plainville, his journey led him to graduate from EC Goodwin Technical Institute, equipping him with the skills he needed to excel in his career. He proudly served his country in the US Navy, demonstrating his unwavering commitment to protecting the nation. For over four decades, Robert dedicated himself to the manufacturing industry, working at Stanley Works. His hard work and dedication were commendable, and he left a lasting impact on his colleagues and the industry as a whole.  He was a dedicated individual who lived life to the fullest, finding joy in simple pleasures and creating lasting memories along the way. Robert was passionate about playing golf and cribbage, and he loved the friendly competition of going bowling. He was also an avid sports enthusiast, supporting his favorite teams, including the UCONN women's basketball team, the Boston Red Sox, and the Dallas Cowboys.  Beyond his professional achievements, Robert treasured the meaningful relationships he built throughout his life. A devoted father, and proud grandfather, his family will carry his memory forward with love and admiration.

In addition to Marilyn, he leaves his children, Terri Smith, Michael Myers, and Joshua Young; his grandchildren who brought much joy to his world, Jonathan and Allison Myers, Emily Smith and Charlene Young; his great-granddaughter Evelyn Myers; his siblings and their families Karen Lindskog, William Young, Kenneth Young, Thomas Young and Catherine Crandle; along with many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.  He was predeceased by his son, Robert Myers.
