Robert A. "Bob" Ryer passed away October 1st, 2024. He is survived by his devoted wife, Patricia; his cherished daughter, Kristy; and his beloved grandsons, Brendan and Keegan.
Robert was born on February 24, 1943 in Poughkeepsie, New York son to the late Robert E. and Elizabeth (Ostrander) Ryer. Robert found joy in everything life gave him. After his morning coffee, he was first and foremost a family man. He spent most of his time and energy supporting his wife as well as being the most dependable father and grandfather anyone could ask for. His hearty appetite never stopped him from playing a friendly game of cards or telling one of his famous stories, and he was always quick with a joke no matter the circumstances.
No one was a stranger to Bob as he befriended everyone he met. He was always eager to spread kindness and inspire joy. Similarly, his work ethic was unmatched, and he approached every task, big or small, with a commitment that inspired those around him.
Robert will be remembered by his family, friends, and all who had the pleasure of meeting him, and his legacy of spreading happiness will live on.
Services in celebration of Robert’s life will be held privately at the discretion of his family. The staff at Plainville Funeral Home, 81 Broad Street, Plainville extends their gratitude to Robert’s family for their trust.
