It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Robert Michael Holcomb, a beloved son, brother, grandson, uncle, and friend. With a fearless spirit and a deeply loyal heart, Rob left this world on August 12, 2024, while riding his beloved Harley, surrounded by the wind and the freedom he so cherished.
An individual of unique essence and a special presence since his birth on March 15, 1993, Rob lived humbly and loved deeply. Coming from a lineage of arborists, Rob followed in the footsteps of his late great-grandfather, William, Sr., his grandfather Bill and his father Dave, climbing to the highest treetops and attaining the prestigious Master Arborist certification, a distinction few in Connecticut hold. His journey led him through the mountains of Colorado for eight years, fulfilling his passions for the outdoors, snowboarding, and skateboarding and before returning home to his roots in New Hartford less than a week ago to be closer to his family. Rob was a multifaceted soul, a talented singer and songwriter whose music spanned genres from hip hop to punk rock. His adventurous spirit and daring pursuits left him with countless scars that told the tales of his many escapades. Yet, beneath his wild exterior, he carried a kind and giving heart, always ready to volunteer and lend a helping hand to those in need. May his spirit soar as freely and fearlessly as it did in life, and may his memory forever be a beacon of light in our hearts.
Rob is survived by his parents, David and Kelly (Yard) Holcomb; his older brothers, Paul Holcomb and his wife Melissa and Scott Holcomb and his fiancé Roxanne Mojica; and was an amazing and loving uncle to his niece and nephews, Paul, Jr., Ava and Matt Holcomb. He also leaves his grandmothers, Sue Holcomb and Valerie Holcomb, his aunts Sue Hincks and her husband Andy and Tabatha Luba and her husband Matt; uncles Bill Holcomb, III and his wife Debbie, Tim Holcomb, and Jim Holcomb and his wife Hillary; his cousins Will Holcomb, IV, Mikayla Green, Steve, Carrie and Alexa Hincks, Matt Holcomb, Juliana Bilodeau, Morgan and Shamus Holcomb, Jacob and Victoria Holcomb and Rileigh and Kory Luba. He was predeceased by his grandfather, William Holcomb, Jr., his grandmother Patricia Yard, and his uncle, Mike Holcomb.
