Robert Johann Dirrigl, of Plainville, passed away peacefully on Friday, April 4, 2025 at the age of 99.
Robert was born in Germany where he grew up and learned a trade. He married Barbara Schambeck and shortly after his wife’s untimely passing, he came to the United States with his baby daughter to start a new life with family who sponsored him. He was a faithful communicant of St. John Fisher Church in Marlborough and Our Lady of Mercy Church in Plainville. Robert was a generous man and kind to everyone he met. He enjoyed the art of Origami, making paper stars and teaching others how to make them. He was a self-taught musician, talented in playing the accordion and harmonica.
Robert was predeceased by his parents, Michael and Karolina (Zankl) Dirrigl, and his sisters, Karolina Bernier and Johanna Lanzl. He leaves his daughter, Barbara Pride, his brother, Herbert Dirrigl, his sister, Greta Moore, his grandchildren, Rebecca, Jonathan and Christina Pride, along with his nieces and nephews.
