Richard V. Cassineri, 29, left his family and friends heartbroken when he left this earthly life unexpectedly on Friday, March 27, 2026.
Born on January 20, 1997, Richard was one of two beloved sons of Richard and Kristine (Jablonski) Cassineri. He was raised and educated in Berlin and was a proud graduate of Berlin High School.
Richard was deeply artistic, expressing himself through painting and pottery. He found joy and purpose in his creativity, especially while working at his uncle’s business, Brothers Auto Body in Cromwell. There, he was able to combine his love of art with his work, taking pride in showcasing his talents. He truly loved what he did, and it showed in every piece he touched.
A natural thrill seeker, Richard had a lifelong passion for skateboarding; whether he was riding, watching, or even painting skateboards. He also loved snowboarding and any outdoor activity that brought excitement and adventure. Yet, he also appreciated life’s quieter moments, finding peace while fishing.
Richard shared a special and unbreakable bond with his four-legged best friend, his basset hound, Rusty, who brought him comfort and companionship through all of life’s ups and downs.
He loved life and lived it to the fullest with compassion and selflessness, always putting others first. He embraced each day with energy, creativity, and a free spirit that left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him. Though addiction ultimately took hold, it never defined the vibrant, talented, and deeply loved person he was.
Richard will be missed beyond words and remembered always for his artistic soul, adventurous heart, and the love he shared so freely with family and friends.
In addition to his parents, he leaves his brother Michael and his wife Megan; his maternal grandparents, Ronald and Lois Jablonski; his paternal grandparents Jayne D’Addabbo and Richard and Diane Cassineri; his aunts and uncles, Donna Dobek, Beth (Kevin) Slifer, Jay (Cathy) Cassineri, Nicholas Cassineri and Sandra Cassineri; his cousins Tristan and Tanner Slifer, Joseph Cassineri, Nicole (Josh) Sochin, and Samantha and Alexandra Zaza; along with a wide circle of friends.
In lieu of flowers, Richard may be remembered with contributions to Team IMPACT at http://www.teamimpact.org or to Wheeler Clinic at http://www.wheelerhealth.org in an effort to support treatment of mental health and addiction.
Family and friends may gather on Thursday April 2, 2026 from 4-7 p.m. at Plainville Funeral Home, 81 Broad St, Plainville. A celebration of Richard’s life will be held on Friday at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Committal will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery, Plainville.
