Renald Villardi, a lifelong resident of Plainville, passed away peacefully on July 9, 2026, following a brief illness. He was 73 years old.
Born in Plainville on July 17, 1952, Renald was the son of John A. Villardi III and Nanette (Edwards) Villardi. Deeply rooted in the community he proudly called home, Renald spent his life serving the town and the people who lived there in more ways than one.
A hardworking plumber for many years, Renald became a familiar face throughout Plainville. Known for his strong work ethic, dependable nature, and willingness to lend a hand, he built lasting relationships with countless families and businesses who trusted him with their homes and projects. Plumbing was more than his profession, it was one of his greatest passions, and he took immense pride in a job well done.
Equally important to him was his commitment to public service. Renald dedicated more than twenty years as a volunteer firefighter with the Plainville Fire Department, answering the call whenever his community needed him. Whether repairing pipes or responding to emergencies, he found purpose in helping others, and those who served alongside him will remember his steady presence, dedication, and camaraderie.
Of all the roles he cherished, none brought him greater happiness than being a grandfather. His grandchildren were the light of his life, and he treasured every opportunity to spend time with them.
Renald will be remembered as a man who worked hard, served selflessly, and loved deeply. His legacy lives on through the many lives he touched with his kindness, his craftsmanship, and his devotion to his family and his hometown.
He is survived by his son, Dominic Villardi and Melynda Serrano; his daughters, Jessica Villardi and Melissa Villardi (Thayer); his grandchildren, Vada and Anthony; his sister Karen Barnes, brother John Villardi, IV; and many nieces and nephews.
Family and friends may gather in celebration of Renald’s life on Wednesday July 15, 2026 from 4-6 p.m., concluding with a prayer service at 6 p.m. at Plainville Funeral Home, 81 Broad St Plainville. A graveside service will be held on Thursday at 9 a.m. at St. Joseph Cemetery, Plainville. For online expressions of sympathy please visit www.PlainvilleFuneralHome.com.
