Raymond Lee Lambert, 63, passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his loving family on Sunday, May 24, 2026, after his third and final battle with cancer. Ray died just as he lived, on his own terms.
Born in Plattsburgh, New York on April 28, 1963, he was one of four children born to Carol (Roberts) Lambert of Plainville and the late Raymond Leroy Lambert. Ray was raised and educated in Plainville, where he met the love of his life, Jessica (Fox) Lambert. They were married in 1983 and together built a life centered around love, family, and hard work, raising three sons of whom Ray was immensely proud. Ray had a natural talent for working with his hands and took great pride in every job he did. He began his career at BW Manufacturing alongside his father before pursuing his lifelong passion for the outdoors as a skilled hardscaper. He worked for Washington Concrete for many years before eventually starting his own business, Lambert’s Hardscape Design, where he built not only beautiful landscapes but lasting friendships and a reputation for craftsmanship and integrity. Though an injury eventually forced him to give up the work he loved, Ray never lost his appreciation for hard work or the outdoors. Nothing made Ray happier than being outside. Whether camping with family, riding his Harley, working in the yard, or simply enjoying nature, he found peace and joy in the outdoors. He was also a devoted car enthusiast, an avid NASCAR fan, and enjoyed spending time talking on his CB radios. Ray had a gift for kindness and conversation and could easily make friends wherever he went. He was a longtime and proud member of the Bristol Elks Lodge 1010. Above all else, Ray was a deeply devoted family man. His greatest joy in life was being Grandpa to his four adored grandchildren, a role he cherished wholeheartedly. He remained close with his extended family throughout his life and treasured the bonds he shared with aunts, uncles, cousins, and loved ones near and far. Ray’s strength, warmth, humor, and love for his family will be missed beyond measure and remembered always by all who knew him.
In addition to his wife and his mom, he leaves his sons, Jason (Nicole) Lambert, Joshua (Jennifer) Lambert and Jesse (Alexandra) Lambert; and his pride and joy, his grandchildren, Asher, Ellery, Scarlett and Evelyn. He also leaves his brothers, Douglas (Cheryl) Lambert, William Lambert and Karen (Steve) Dupere; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
In honor of Ray’s lifelong love for nature, his family encourages those wishing to remember him to plant a tree in his memory.
Family and friends may gather on Friday May 29, 2026, from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Plainville Funeral Home, 81 Broad St, Plainville. Words of remembrance will be shared at 11 a.m., followed by committal at St. Joseph Cemetery, Plainville. For online expressions of sympathy, please visit http://www.PlainvilleFuneralHome.com
