Raymond J. “Ray” DiFrancesco, 63, loving husband, father and son, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, November 18, 2022. A longtime resident of Plainville, he married his high school sweetheart, France (Bouchard) DiFrancesco in 1985.
Ray was a dedicated employee of the city of New Britain for twenty-eight years until his well-deserved retirement seven years ago. He loved NASCAR, football (Go Pack!) and especially loved playing fantasy football with his kids, who he reminded frequently that he was the fantasy king. He was a devoted dog dad to Chloe and Pebbles, who we’re sure he’s now met over the rainbow bridge.
He leaves his beloved wife, France; his three adored children, Raymond W. DiFrancesco, Eric J. DiFrancesco, and Alice A. DiFrancesco; his sisters, Carol Sisti and Donna Dickerson and her husband, Mike; his sister-in-law, Donna (Sisson) DiFrancesco; and his father, Raymond R. DiFrancesco. He also leaves many nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family, along with his lifelong best friend, Brian West. He is reunited with his mother, Elizabeth Ann (Vick) DiFrancesco and his brother, Alan DiFrancesco.
In lieu of flowers, Ray’s love for animals may be remembered with contributions to the Connecticut Humane Society, 701 Russell Rd, Newington, CT 06111 or http://www.cthumane.org, the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention at http://www.afsp.org or the National Alliance on Mental Illness at http://www.nami.org
Family and friends may gather on Wednesday November 30, 2022, from 4-8 p.m. at Plainville Funeral Home, 81 Broad St, Plainville. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, December 1, 2022, at 11:00 a.m., meeting directly at St. Patrick Church, 110 Main St, Farmington.
