Raoul Sirois, 86, of Southington, passed away peacefully on February 23, 2025. Raoul lived a life filled with love, adventure, and commitment to his family.
Born on January 10, 1939 in St. Agatha, Maine, he was one of eleven children to the late Maxime and Mary Ann (Frasier) Sirous. Raoul was married to the love of his life, Marie Rose (Ouellette), for an impressive 62 years. Together, they created a home filled with warmth and laughter, and raised a loving family that they proudly watched grow for three generations. As a dedicated worker in the construction industry and member of Teamsters Local 559, Raoul spent many years with Valley Concrete before retiring from Tilcon two decades ago. He was known for his strong work ethic and his ability to take on any project with a smile. Outside of work, Raoul had a lifelong passion for snowmobiling, which he happily shared with his family on many memorable trips throughout northern New England. He was also a huge NASCAR fan, enjoying races from the comfort of his home and even living out a dream when he participated in the NASCAR Technical Instutute, taking laps around Pocono Raceway. Raoul loved being a Pepere to his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, showering them with affection and always being there with a kind word or a listening ear. He was a selfless, laid-back guy, going with the flow and always putting others first. He will be missed dearly and remembered fondly by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
In addition to his wife Marie Rose, he leaves his son and daughter-in-law, David and Sandy Sirois; his daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Rich Thibeault; his grandchildren, Andrew Thibeault and his wife Larissa, Ashley Rudnick and her husband Ed, Michelle Savage and her husband John and Matthew Sirois and his wife Jess; and his great-grandchildren, Nathan, Nataley, and Carter, with his next great- grandson expected any day. He also leaves his sisters, Jean Chartier, Gilberte Jalbert, and Lorette Paradis; along with many nieces, nephews and extended family. He was predeceased by his brothers Fernand, Roland and Louis, and his sisters Rolande Dumais, Theresa Hebert, Yvette Sirois and Aline Bosse.
In lieu of flowers, Raoul may be remembered with contributions to the Alzheimer’s Association of Connecticut, 200 Executive Blvd, Suite 4-B, Southington CT 06489 or http://www.act.alz.org
