Peter S. Zakrzewski

Peter S. Zakrzewski, of Killingworth, a proud Plainville native, passed away on September 10, 2024, at the age of 80. Born on July 15, 1944, he was the son of the late Peter F. and Dorothy (Simoneau) Zakrzewski.

A graduate of Plainville High School, Peter embarked on a successful career in construction, where he excelled as the President of Zack Land and Lumber Company. Throughout his life, he developed numerous notable properties in Plainville, including Courtyard Condominiums and Townline Rd. Trade Condos, as well as many homes in Plainville and the surrounding towns. Peter's expertise in plumbing and HVAC contracting eventually led him to retire from the State of Connecticut.  Beyond his professional accomplishments, Peter was a passionate football fan who eagerly awaited each NFL season with enthusiasm and joy.  A devoted father, brother, uncle and friend, he will be missed for his sense of humor and hard work ethics.

He is survived by his son, Edward Zakrzewski; his brother and sister-in-law, Kenneth and Deborah Zakrzewski; his nephew, Jason Zakrzewski and his wife, Jennifer; and additional cousins, nieces, and nephews. He was predeceased by his son, Peter Zak.

Family and friends may gather in celebration of Peter’s life on Monday, September 16, 2023 at 11:30 a.m. at St. Joseph Cemetery, Farmington Ave., Plainville.
