Peter William Brown, Sr., 82 of Collinsville, cherished husband, father, grandfather, and esteemed CPA, passed away with his family by his side on Thursday, January 16, 2025. He was the husband of Trudy (Santino) Brown, with whom he shared an impressive 63 years full of love, laughter and life adventures.
Born in Melrose, MA, on March 20, 1942, he was one of three children of the late Bruce and Virginia (Long) Brown. Peter was a proud graduate of Bridgton Academy in Bridgton, Maine, where he would later serve on the Board of Directors, and earned his Accounting degree from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst, where he played center for the football team. A committed professional in the field of accounting, he dedicated many years to his expertise as a Certified Public Accountant. As the owner of Peter Brown CPA’s and Consultants in Bristol, he brought exceptional skill and knowledge to his practice. Admired by his colleagues and clients, his contributions to the industry were significant, and his dedication evident through his active roles with the American Society of CPA's and his work on the Board of Directors with the Connecticut Society of CPA's. Though devoted to his career, Peter had many interests outside the office, including his love for football, proudly supporting Union College football in Schenectady, NY, and enjoying over four decades as a legend at Chippanee Country Club where he fulfilled his passion for golf and camaraderie. Above all his accomplishments, Peter treasured his family most. Together, he and Trudy created a warm and welcoming home, raising two adored children, and his proudest role was becoming a grandfather to his four beloved grandchildren. May his memory be a blessing and may his vibrant spirit continue to inspire all who knew him.
In addition to his wife, Trudy, he leaves his children, Peter William Brown, Jr. and his wife Gina of Scotia, NY and Kim (Brown) Larkin and her husband Richard of Collinsville; his beloved grandchildren, Jake Larkin, Shannon Larkin and her partner Sterling Munich, Christy Brown, and Packy Brown and his fiancé Sophie Borg; his brother, Jeffrey Brown; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sister Nancy (Brown) McCormack.
