Patricia Lapila Labbe Obituary

Patricia Grace (Pagliaro) Lapila Labbe, beloved mother, sister and dedicated educator, peacefully left this world on November 17, 2023, surrounded by the love and warmth of her family.

Patty was born on May 15, 1969, in New York City, where she spent her childhood and early adulthood. She was the baby of six children to the late Joseph and Barbara (Hughes) Pagliaro, and raised in a nurturing and loving family, Patricia received a stellar education, culminating in her graduation from St. John's University in Queens. Armed with a teaching certificate, she embarked on a rewarding career shaping young minds. Her dedication to education led her to attain a Master's Degree from St. Joseph's College, all while raising her cherished twin sons, alongside her late husband James Lapila with whom she shared 21 wonderful years until his untimely passing in 2013.  She found love again in her longtime friend and fellow autism advocate, Michael Labbe, sharing his final five years by his side until his passing in 2021.

With a heart overflowing with compassion and kindness, Patricia dedicated over two decades as a selfless and devoted teacher at Great Beginnings. Her genuine care and patience touched the lives of countless students, leaving an indelible impact, and her colleagues became her second family. She brought the same enthusiasm and dedication to her most recent role as a literacy tutor in the Plainville School System, where she continued to make a difference in the lives of students.

Patricia was the embodiment of a loving mother, placing her twins at the center of her world. She showered them with unwavering love, support, and guidance as they grew into remarkable young men. The bond they shared was unbreakable, and her legacy will forever be carried in their hearts.

Outside of her career and family, Patricia possessed a gentle spirit and a loving nature that endeared her to all who had the pleasure of knowing her. Her selflessness and compassion knew no bounds, and she was always ready to lend a helping hand or offer a listening ear. Patricia's genuine care for others will be remembered as an inspiration to lead a life filled with kindness and empathy.

She will be missed dearly and remembered fondly by her boys, Matthew and James; her siblings Ro Reader and her husband Mark, Cathy Pirillo and her husband Louie, Joseph Pagliaro, Terry Deeks and her husband Glenn and John Pagliaro and his wife Donna; and her many nieces, nephews and extended family, all who she cherished.
