Nora Haddock Obituary

Nora (Myers) Haddock, 79, of East Hampton, passed away peacefully on January 7, 2026 at Chestelm Health & Rehabilitation Center. She was the devoted wife and best friend to John “Jack” Haddock, with whom she shared 28 years of love and adventure.
Nora, affectionately known as “Nonie” to her family and friends, was born on May 10, 1946 in Bristol, CT daughter to the late George and Myrtle (Taylor) Myers. Born and raised in Bristol, Nora was a graduate of Bristol Eastern High School.
Nora faced profound loss in her early life when she mourned the passing of her first husband, Paul Strauch, who was also the father of her cherished children. Despite the trials and tribulations that came her way, she demonstrated remarkable strength and grace, ultimately finding love again when she met John Haddock. Their partnership was a testament to the beauty of second chances, and together they created a home filled with laughter and warmth.
Known for her organizational prowess and endearing personality, Nora spent many years and retired as the office manager at SNET Credit Union, where she formed lasting friendships and was admired by her colleagues and clients alike. Nora’s kindness extended far beyond her professional life; she had a unique ability to uplift those around her, leaving a lasting impression on everyone she met.
Nora lived her life to the fullest, filling her days with adventure and joy. An avid lover of the outdoors, she found happiness in every season, whether it was boating in the summer sun, fishing along tranquil waters, tending to her vibrant garden, or snowmobiling through the winter wonderland. She had a thirst for exploration that took her on cruises and travels around the country, constantly seeking the beauty and wonder of the world. Nora's profound affection for animals, particularly her deep admiration for elephants, defined much of her character. These majestic creatures symbolized the strength, wisdom, good luck, and longevity that Nora embodied throughout her life.
Nora is survived by her husband, John “Jack” Haddock; her sons, Stephen Strauch (Beth) and Thomas Strauch (Kathy); her stepchildren, Shelly Hayes and Jeffrey Haddock (Sandy); her sister, Debora Rogers; her grandchildren, Grace, Bailey, Dalton (Becky), Sara, Tina, Jeff Jr., Ryan, Jared and Ryley; and several great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her first husband, Paul Strauch; her brother, William Myers; and her sister, Marlene Warman.
