Mileena Elizabeth Burnham-Matthews, was tragically taken from this earthly life on Friday, March 27, 2026, alongside her beloved mother and sister. Though her time here was far too short, Mileena filled her days with laughter, personality, and a spirit that left a lasting mark on everyone who knew her.
Born on October 11, 2013, Mileena was the cherished daughter of Felisha Matthews and Kenneth Burnham, both of whom shared a unique and devoted bond with her. Together, they dedicated themselves to her education at home, nurturing her curiosity, creativity, and individuality. She was recently excited to begin a new chapter as a student at the Middle School of Plainville.
Mileena was an animal lover at heart and had a vibrant sense of self-expression, often changing her hair to bold and colorful styles that matched her bright personality. Always willing to try something new, she enjoyed playing softball, snowboarding and could often be found skating—whether on roller skates or trying out new tricks on a skateboard.
Full of energy and humor, Mileena, the blooming teen of the feisty crew was known as the family’s goofball and prankster. She kept everyone on their toes with her jokes, playful antics, sneaking in horror movies, late-night laughter, and especially during sleepovers with her cousin and bestie, at her grandparents.
Mileena will be remembered most for her incredible sense of humor, her loving and welcoming nature, and the joy she brought into every room. She loved gaming, especially playing Fortnite, and could often be found laughing and dancing along to TikTok videos with her little sister, moments that reflected the deep and special bond they shared.
Family meant everything to Mileena. She shared a close connection with her cousins, who were more like sisters to her, and she treasured the time spent with them making memories filled with laughter and love.
Though her life was tragically cut short, Mileena’s light will continue to shine in the hearts of her family and friends. Her laughter, her spirit, and her love will never be forgotten.
She is survived by her father, Ken, aunts, uncles, grandparents, great-grandparents and cousins.
