Michael Raymond Fraychak, 78 of Plainville, devoted husband, father, pop, and proud US Marine Corps veteran passed away on April 30, 2024, with his family by his side.
Born on October 4, 1945, in New Britain, he was the only son and one of eight children to the late John and Lillian (Ouellette) Fraychak.
Known for his strong work ethic and commitment to his family, Mike spent his life in service to others, both through his military service during the Vietnam War and as the owner and operator of Alternatives home improvement. He took great pride in his work and the home he created for his family in Plainville, where he raised his two sons alongside his loving wife, Beth (Sibley), with whom he was to celebrate 51 years on May 5th.
In his leisure time, Mike found joy in simple pleasures such as cooking, with Pop’s famous meatloaf being a beloved dish among family and friends. His hobbies included researching genealogy, collecting stamps and coins, mastering crossword puzzles, and tending to his yard. A lover of the outdoors, he enjoyed watching old western movies as well. While his passing leaves a void in the lives of those who knew and loved him, his spirit will continue to shine brightly through the memories and experiences shared.
In addition to his wife, he leaves his sons, Jamie Fraychak and Justin Fraychak; his adored grandchildren who affectionately called him “Pop”, Brooke and Parker; his seven sisters, Lois (Wayne) Scott, Fran (Ronnie) Planz, Anne Cormier, Patricia (James) Bialy, Dorothy Nowak, Phyllis Leonard, and Cheryl (Keith) Kanaple. He also leaves his special friends Jimmy and Bonnie Rio, along with his extended family and friends.
In lieu of flowers, Michael may be remembered with contributions to the Travis Mills Foundation, 647 Castle Island Rd, Mt. Vernon, ME 04352 or www.travismillsfoundation.org
