Mary Lou Cassille Obituary

Mary Lou (Caron) Cassille, 83, of Plainville, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 1, 2026.

Born in Caribou, Maine, she was the daughter of the late Louis and Annie Caron. Mary Lou was predeceased by her beloved husband, Theodore "Big Ted" Cassille Sr.; her son, Timothy Cassille; and her brother, Thomas Caron.

Mary Lou was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and entrepreneur whose life was defined by her unwavering love for her family, her dedication to her community, and her generous spirit.

Together with her husband, she proudly owned and operated several successful family businesses, including a sausage company in Plainville for 15 years, Burlington Pizza for 15 years, and Cassille's Restaurant for 18 years. Through these businesses, Mary Lou became a familiar face to generations of customers. She built lasting friendships and touched countless lives through her kindness and hospitality throughout the community. Her warm smile, welcoming nature, and genuine kindness made everyone who entered feel like family.

She was an active member of the Plainville Senior Center, the Plainville Historical Society, and the Plainville Public Library. Mary Lou also found great fulfillment volunteering with Michaela's Garden Project through the Petit Family Foundation, where she continued her lifelong commitment to helping others.

Known for her strength, determination, and independent spirit, Mary Lou faced every challenge with courage and perseverance. She was always willing to help anyone in need, never expecting anything in return. Above all, she cherished her family and found immense joy in spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She also had a lifelong love of animals, whose companionship brought her great happiness.

She is survived by her son, Theodore Cassille Jr.; her grandchildren, Amy Blakley Melesky and her wife, Kristen Melesky; Melissa (Cassille) Barkauskas and her husband, Mitch Barkauskas; and Adam Cassille and his wife, Megan Driscoll; her cherished great-grandchildren, Hudson, Hanna, Carter, Bennett, and Madilyn; and many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.

The family would like to express their heartfelt appreciation to David Murphy and Lori DelVaglio for their unwavering support over the years.

Mary Lou's family will forever cherish her legacy of love, strength, kindness, and generosity. She will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
