Mary Caroline (Ventrelli) Vasile, 98 of Plainville, passed away peacefully on Monday December 18, 2023. The wife of the late Francis X. Vasile, Sr., she was a kindhearted woman whose life was marked by love for family, commitment to serving others, and a passion for music.
Born into a musically inclined family, she was one of three children to the late John and Minnie (Yacobellis) Ventrelli. Raised and educated in Plainville, she met the love of her life Frank, at Lake Compounce, and they settled in her hometown where they raised their three sons and shared nearly 70 devoted years together. Mary was member of the Community Chest, supported her sons and their many endeavors on the parents club and as a longtime band mother, and was by Frank’s side at his many volunteer and community accomplishments. Her work life began as a payroll clerk at Trumbull Electric, and in 1969, she joined the Plainville Board of Education, having been a friendly and familiar face at both Trask School and Plainville High School for close to twenty years. At her core, Mary was a loving caretaker who poured her heart into making a difference in the lives of others. Whether it was preparing meals, being an ear to listen or providing unwavering love and encouragement, she devoted herself to caring for those she loved. Her presence will be deeply missed, but her memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know her.
She leaves her sons Joseph Vasile and his wife Sue Gebo, Francis X. Vasile, Jr. and his wife Linda, and Thomas Vasile and his wife Carrie; her grandchildren, Zachary, Morgan, Alexander, Griffin and Caroline; along with many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends, including her many friends at Arbor Rose where she resided for the past six years. She was predeceased by her brothers, Anthony and George Ventrelli and her sister-in-law, best friend and shopping partner, Eleanor Vasile, who she missed dearly.
