Martha "Marty" (Golin) Kozlowski

Martha “Marty” Kozlowski passed away on July 27, 2025 after battling cancer. She was 73 years young.

Marty was born in Bristol, Connecticut on November 30, 1951 to Mary and Emil Golin. She grew up in Bristol and graduated from Central Connecticut State College in 1973.

After high school, she worked at Food Mart on Divinity Street in Bristol, along with many friends and her future husband, Wayne. They were married in October of 1973.

Throughout her career, Marty worked at the Bristol Board of Education, Bristol Hospital, and Midstate Medical Center. She treasured the friends she made at each of her jobs.

Marty loved to knit, sew, and cross stitch from a young age. Her family members and home were often adorned with her beautiful creations. Marty, Wayne, and many of their friends enjoyed many weekends spent camping. She loved exploring new places with friends and family. As television cooking shows became popular in the 90’s, Marty began to try new recipes and found a renewed love of cooking. She passed on her love of reading to her daughter, and they would often share book recommendations with each other. Marty’s most recent love was spending time with her grandson, William.

Marty is remembered by her friends and family as a kind and compassionate person who had a bright smile. She was always ready to listen and offer encouragement. She loved her family immensely.

Marty was preceded in death by her parents, Emil and Mary. She is survived by her husband, Wayne, her daughter Laura and her husband Louis, her grandson William, her sister Maryann and her husband John, her brother Richard and his wife Susan, and many cousins, nieces, nephews, and grandnieces. She will be missed greatly.

Family and friends are welcome to gather on Wednesday, August 6, 2025 from 9 AM to 10:30 AM at Plainville Funeral Home, 81 Broad Street, Plainville. Services in Celebration of Martha’s life will begin at 10:30 AM at the funeral home. Burial will be held privately.
