Marlene “Jane” (Cookson) Thibeault, 89, of Plainville passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 13, 2024 surrounded by the love of her family. She was the devoted wife of Richard J. Thibeault for the last 70 years.
Jane was born on July 20, 1935 in Dexter, Maine daughter to the late Phillip and Arlene (Manoogian) Cookson. Jane’s life was marked by simple joys and treasured moments spent with those closest to her. She cherished spending time with her family, especially playing card games, going out to eat, or being the biggest fan at the racetrack, a tradition that united them through generations. She also enjoyed decorating her house, staying connected to those she loved through long, meaningful phone conversations and countless casino trips and adventures with her husband.
Jane retired from T.J. Maxx in Bristol in 2003. Her smiling face and excellent customer service cultivated long lasting relationships with her clientele and colleagues, especially her very best friend, Dee Pearson.
Jane, Janie, Ma, Grandma and Memey will always be cherished in the hearts of those who were lucky to know and be loved by her.
In addition to her husband, Richard J. Thibeault, Jane is survived by her sons, Richard A. Thibeault, Michael Thibeault and his wife, Deborah, and Jeffrey Thibeault and his fiancée, Rene; her grandchildren, Matthew Thibeault, Shawn Thibeault and his wife, Nichole, Nicole Pavelchak and her husband, Tommy, Richard A. Thibeault Jr., and their mother Francine; her great-grandchildren, Logan and Lianna Thibeault; and several extended family members.
Family and friends may gather in celebration of Jane’s life on Thursday, November 14, 2024 from 5 to 7 PM at Plainville Funeral Home, 81 Broad St, Plainville. Words of remembrance led by Life Celebrant Jesse Gnazzo will be shared at 7 PM.
