Mark Stephen Bozzuto, 68, of Plainville, passed away in the comfort of his home on Wednesday, April 1, 2026.
Born in Waterbury CT on March 19, 1958, Mark was the son of the late Joseph and Anastasia “Ann” (Crispino) Bozzuto. He led a well-lived life, filled with accomplishments, dedication, and many adventures. He was raised and educated in Waterbury, and after graduating from Kennedy High School with the class of 1976 went on to learn computer processing skills at the Computer Processing Institute in East Hartford, CT.
He was a successful Technical Analyst for the State of Connecticut’s Department of Administrative Services, where he proudly served for 35 years before retiring. Mark was known for his commitment to his work and his ability to connect with others. His colleagues admired him, and his contributions to the agency will be remembered fondly for years to come. Beyond his professional career, Mark was a member of the Glastonbury Elks Lodge.
Mark settled in Plainville alongside his beloved wife of 42 years, Bethany (Warner) Bozzuto, where together they raised their daughters and created a warm and nurturing home. As a family, they made countless memories, especially during family camping trips, ski trips and their annual vacation to the Cape. In retirement, Mark and Bethany embraced the open road with enthusiasm, embarking on numerous journeys in their RV.
Mark was an adventurer at heart and dedicated much of his life to exploring nature's wonders. Whether it was gliding down snow-covered mountains while skiing, pedaling through scenic trails on his bike or conquering majestic peaks while mountain climbing, his spirit thrived in the embrace of the great outdoors. He was proud to win the Tour of Litchfield Hills and conquer the towering heights of Angels Landing at Zion National Park in Utah.
Mark had a knack for getting involved in everything he did and brought joy wherever he went. He cherished moments spent riding his bike, horseback riding, enjoying monthly Ponte Club dinners, rollerblading bridge to bridge on the Cape, playing the harmonica, solving sudoku puzzles, playing jigsaw while having lunches twice a week with his sister, MaryEllen, and golfing with his friends and brothers.
AND PIE, MARK LOVED PIE.
In addition to his wife, Bethany (Warner) Bozzuto, of Plainville, Mark is survived by his daughters, Nicole Ann Bozzuto, of Bloomfield, NJ, and Elise Marie Bozzuto, of Canton, CT; his siblings, Anthony Bozzuto and his wife, Debbie, of Myrtle Beach, SC, Joann Bozzuto, of Fall River, MA, Paul Bozzuto and his wife, Victoria, of Myrtle Beach, SC, Stephen Bozzuto and his wife, Bernadette, of Waterbury, MaryEllen Bozzuto, of Waterbury; and several nieces, nephews, extended family members, along with a large circle of friends. Mark also loved his mix-breed canine and travel partner, Tanya.
Honoring Mark’s wishes, a celebration of his life will be held on Sunday, April 12th from 2 p.m. – 7 p.m. at the Glastonbury Elks Lodge # 2202, 98 Woodland Street, South Glastonbury, CT. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Mark may be made to any organization of your choice. He especially cared about those that benefit veterans and their families.
