Margaret Mary (Fournier) Dumais, 67, of Plainville, affectionately known as “Peggy,” passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 14, 2024, at Hartford Hospital surrounded by her loving family. She was the devoted wife of 46 years to Phillip C. Dumais.
Peggy was born on August 2, 1957, in Meriden, CT daughter to the late Josephine (Bulluss) and John Raymond Fournier. Raised in Southington, Peggy settled in Plainville following her marriage to Phil, where together they created a warm and welcoming home that will continue to be a beacon of love filled with cherished memories for the generations to come. Peggy led a fulfilling life committed to her career in banking, following her father's esteemed path. She commenced her professional journey with Webster Bank and later found her niche at Home Depot, where she faithfully served until retirement.
She often spent her down time wrapped up in heartfelt Hallmark and Lifetime films, finding peace and coziness right at home. Her love of nature was a testament to her kind and nurturing spirit as she embraced each day with a sense of wonder, delighting in the simple beauty of feeding the birds that graced her backyard and caring for her beloved rose bushes. Peggy was an avid reader, and she frequented the local library, always eager and excited to begin her next read. She could often be found exploring the pages of books, lost in the worlds created by the author.
Above all, family was the center of Peggy’s life and there was not anything in this world that she cherished or loved more. Together, we will remember Peggy's devotion to her family and the kindness she brought into the lives of all who knew her.
In addition to her husband, Phillip C. Dumais, of Plainville, Peggy is survived by her son, James Dumais and his wife, Rebecca, and their children, Logan and Samantha Dumais, all of Guilford, her daughter, Jennifer Parsons and her husband, Roy, and their children, Kaitlyn and Mason Parsons, all of Plainville, her son, Sean Dumais and his wife, Toni, of Plainville; her siblings, Patty (Tom), Kathy (John), Colleen (Rusty), Thom, Marty (Bryan), Mary Ellen (Ben), Eileen (Neil), Amy (Jim), Andrew (Kimberly), and Brian (Kelly); her mother-in-law, Sylvia Dumais; her sisters-in-law, Shirley (David) and Phyllis; and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and extended family members.
Family and friends are welcome to gather in celebration of Peggy’s life on Wednesday, November 20, 2024 from 5 to 7 PM at Plainville Funeral Home, 81 Broad Street, Plainville. A Catholic prayer service will begin at 6:30 PM. Burial will be held privately.
