Marcia Lorraine (Roper) Wynne, lifelong resident of Plainville, passed away peacefully on December 19, 2024, at the age of 67 following a brief, hard fought illness. She was the wife of the late Timothy Wynne, who predeceased her in 2008.
Born on March 29, 1957, in Bristol, Marcia was one of five children to the late Clifford and Dorothy (Snyder) Roper, and a proud member of a family with deep roots in the community, often found at the Plainville United Methodist Church, where her family has worshipped and volunteered for generations. For nearly two decades, she dedicated herself to her work as an employee of CT Spring and Stamping, forming bonds with her co-workers and creating a second family that she held dear. A devoted volunteer, Marcia offered her time and support to a multitude of local organizations, including schools, her church, and the Plainville Fire Company. Her heart was as big as her love for animals, especially her beloved four-legged companion, Snickers. Marcia created countless happy memories with her late husband and family in the serene landscapes of Maine, where laughter and love flourished. She was a devoted fan of the New York Giants and New York Yankees and loved engaging in spirited family card games that created cherished bonds and lasting smiles. A woman who was rarely without her Dunkin’ coffee in hand, Marcia embraced life’s simple joys, often seen sporting her favorite color purple and surrounded by her treasured collection of elephants—always with their trunks up, symbolizing her positive outlook. Her zest for life was matched only by her feisty spirit, kindness, and generosity. She will be missed beyond measure, leaving many priceless memories.
Marcia is survived by her son, Dennis Wynne and his fiancé Monica Cyr; her granddaughters, Deanna and Kendell; her siblings, Roger Roper and his wife Gail and Pauline Hepple and her husband George; her extended family, Lorraine Wynne (the late John Wynne), Barbara Gillette (Robert “Bob” Edmonds), Selina “Sis” Wynne (the late Michael Wynne) and many beloved nieces and nephews, including her nieces Lori Young and Annette “Netti” Mora with whom she shared a special bond. She was predeceased by her sister Janet Billings and her brother Douglas Roper.
In lieu of flowers, Marcia may be remembered with contributions to the Plainville Fire Company, 77 W. Main St, Plainville or to the American Cancer Society at www.cancer.org
