Linda Mae (Curtis) Hill, 74, loving wife, mother, and grandmother, of Southington, passed away peacefully after a brief illness on Monday, December 12, 2022 at the Hospital of Central CT in New Britain. She was the beloved wife of 47 years to Elton W. Hill, Jr.
Linda was born on April 8, 1948 in New Britain, CT daughter to the late Charles P. and Sophie (Bakaj) Curtis. From a young age, Linda followed her passion to become a hairdresser, working in various salons prior to going back to school to start a new career path. She was employed at Connecticut Mutual Life Insurance Company for many years and continued to do hair in her clients' homes in her spare time, establishing many lifelong friendships along the way. Linda was very active in the Bristol Senior Center, especially the weekly BINGO games, and she enjoyed watching the UCONN basketball teams and NASCAR. Above all, Linda was devoted to her family and especially loved her grandchildren dearly. She was very involved in their activities, including concerts, and scouting and sporting events; any chance she was able to be with family or support them through the years, she fully engaged proudly. Linda was known for her kind and thoughtful gestures that people really appreciated. She had a way of making you feel comforted in your darkest days or in a time of need, a reassurance that she would always be there to support and care for you. Linda will be missed deeply by her family as they carry on her legacy of kindness and love.
In addition to her soulmate and love of her life, Elton W. Hill, Jr., of Southington, Linda is survived by her daughter and best friend, Lisa Martin and her husband, Ken, of Southington, her stepson, Scott Hill and his wife, Sandra, of Wilmington, MA, her stepdaughter, Debra Dauberman, of FL, her grandchildren, Joseph, Kyle, Emily, Connor, Samantha, Jacob, Alex, Cole, and Scott, her great-grandchildren, Emma and Olivia, her sister, Lila MacDonald and her husband, Paul, her cousin who was like a sister, Helen Farone, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Family and friends are welcome to gather on Tuesday, December 20 from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at Plainville Funeral Home, 81 Broad St., Plainville. A service in celebration of Linda’s life will be held at 11 a.m. at the Congregational Church of Plainville (UCC), 130 W. Main St., Plainville. Burial will follow in South End Cemetery, Southington.
