Liane Claire Lawley, 76 of Plainville, devoted wife of Alan Lawley, left this earthly life unexpectedly while visiting her family in Kansas City, on Saturday, November 2, 2024.
Born in Bristol on March 24, 1948, she was one of five children to the late Jean and Jacqueline (Vezina) Pronovost. She and Alan settled in Plainville where they raised their three children and became proud grandparents. Liane graced the community with her kindness as a familiar face at Food Mart in Bristol for many years. In retirement, she found joy in playing golf and tennis, enjoying the beauty of the outdoors. She had a passion for cooking and her culinary creations, her warmth, hospitality and intricately decorated home created a gathering place for friends and family, all whom she welcomed with open arms. She hosted memorable and lively family holidays year after year, often times ending in a friendly competition in card games or Aggravation. Liane cherished her family deeply and traveled often to visit her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, who were a constant source of light and joy in her life. Music was a significant part of Liane's life, and she loved spending time with her girlfriends, Nikki, Dot and Susan, visiting wineries, attending fairs, and harmonizing in song. She will be deeply missed, but her vibrant spirit and zest for life will live on in the precious memories she created and the love she shared.
In addition to her husband, Alan, she is survived by her children, Lisa Patterson and her husband, Larry, Craig Lawley and his wife Kristina, and Shawn Lawley; her grandchildren, Kyle and Amber Johnson, Corey Johnson, Kylee Cronin, Bobby Johnson, Alyssa Petree, Sara Keltner, Anna Patterson, and Shelby Woodfine; and great-grandchildren, Daniel and Daven Carlton and Amelia and Declan Johnson. She also leaves her brothers Peter, Dennis, and Steven Pronovost, her sister, Jane Pratt; and many nieces and nephews, along with her grand-dogs that she adored, Iggy, Sandy, Daisy, Mugs, Lewis, Lola and Chief.
Family and friends may gather to share memories and celebrate Liane’s life on Monday, November 18, 2024 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Plainville Funeral Home, 81 Broad St, Plainville. Words of remembrance, led by life celebrant Jesse Gnazzo, will be shared at 7:00 p.m. For online expressions of sympathy, please visit www.PlainvilleFuneralHome.com
