Lenora Beck Obituary

Lenora (Daigle) Beck, a woman who encapsulated kindness, strength, and grace, peacefully left this earthly life surrounded by her beloved family on Sunday, November 17, 2024 at the age of 94.  She was the wife of the late John P. Beck, who predeceased her in 1998.

Born on June 19, 1930, in Fort Kent, ME., she was one of seven children to the late Emile and Alexina Daigle.  She and John settled in Plainville where they raised their four daughters.  Lenora held her family close to her heart, displaying love and devotion every step of the way. A testament to her selflessness was her decision, at the age of 74, to provide a home for her two young great-grandsons and raised them with the same care and tenderness as she would her own sons.  Throughout her life, Lenora's gift for conversation and sociability was evident. Whether engaging in lively discussions at work as a nutritionist at UCONN, where she found joy in interacting with patients daily, or delighting in a friendly chat with anyone she crossed paths with, her “gift of gab” and ability to connect with others was truly unmatched.   Her love for antiquing and gardening further showcased her passion for life and beauty and her adept sewing skills were matched only by her mischievous sense of humor, often leaving loved ones in stitches with her playful pranks. Lenora was a beacon of independence, possessing a spirit that radiated warmth and generosity to all who had the privilege of knowing her, and she will be missed beyond words.

She is survived by her daughters, Linda Mannings, Pamela Beck, and Sandra Beck-Brejza; her great-grandsons, who were her pride and joy, Shane Hartunian and Davin Garcia; and her grandchildren, Shane, Jeffrey, Alissa and Gabriella.  She also leaves her sister and best friend with whom she shared an unbreakable bond, Nina Lulevitch, along with many nieces and nephews.  She was predeceased by her daughter, Sharon Hartunian, her brothers, Alva, Emilien, Richard and Alton Daigle and her sister, Millie Whitworth.

In lieu of flowers, Lenora may be remembered with contributions to the Connecticut Humane Society, 701 Russell Rd, Newington, CT 06111 or http://www.cthumane.org
