Laurette Marie Ortner, formerly Dubuc, passed away on January 29, 2026 with her loving children by her side. She was predeceased by her husband Normand. Laurette was born in Sharon, CT on March 27, 1933 to the late Romeo and Albertine Dubuc. She was one of five children and is survived by her brother, Edward. She was predeceased by her parents and brothers: Norman, Maurice, and Paul. The family lived most of their lives in a home in Kensington, CT which was surrounded by an apple orchard.
Laurette and Normand were married on February 28, 1954 in Berlin, CT. They were devoted members of Our Lady of Mercy Church in Plainville and St. Matthews Church in Forestville. Together they raised four children: Susan, David, Michael, and Denise. After dedicating herself to raising her family--her most important role, Laurette worked at her second favorite job as a florist at Stop & Shop. She lovingly prepared family dinners every Sunday. Laurette and Norm loved hosting the holidays for family and Christmas Eve with friends. After retirement, they spent part of their winters in Florida and traveled throughout the country, but always returned home to host holidays and babysit grandchildren when needed. Laurette was known for her beautiful flower gardens and her talent for creating floral arrangements and Christmas wreaths, which she shared for everyone to enjoy.
Laurette is survived by her daughter, Susan Turko, and grandsons Matthew, Ryan, and Kevin; her son David, his wife Antoinette, and grandchildren Christopher and Jessica; her son Michael, his wife Ginger, and granddaughter Malissa; her daughter Denise, her husband Steve, and grandchildren Tyler and Kimber; and her great-grandchildren Brady, Amira, Zain, and Jack.
