With deep sadness, we announce the passing of Laura Valeri, who left us on July 21, 2025. Laura was a beloved daughter and mother, a cherished friend, and a remarkable soul.
Born on April 6, 1969 in New Britain, CT, daughter to Linda (Kumm) Valeri and the late Albert Valeri, Laura was a beacon of strength and compassion. Laura grew up in Plainville, where she attended local schools and graduated from Plainville High School in the class of 1987.
Laura had a profound love for music, particularly the timeless melodies of Prince and Michael Jackson. Her deep appreciation for the performing arts extended to Broadway, where she found joy that she lovingly passed down to her children.
Laura cherished her role as a stay-at-home mom, and her greatest joy came with the arrival of her grandchildren, who brought immense happiness into her life. As a proud and devoted "Grammy," she treasured memories with them.
Laura was well-known for capturing life's special moments. With her camera recorder in hand, she valued the importance of home videos and preserving important memories.
Laura's commitment to her community was exemplified through her volunteer work with PARC and the Plainville Choral Society, where she devoted countless hours.
Laura is survived by her beloved children, Julie Zaleski, Nicholas Zaleski, and Samantha (Zaleski) Vega; her cherished grandchildren, Braiden and Dallas; her mother, Linda (Kumm) Valeri; her brother, Patrick Valeri; along with her extended family and friends. She was predeceased by her father, Albert Valeri, whom she is now reunited with.
Services in celebration of Laura’s life will be held privately at the convenience of her family. Donations in memory of Laura may be made to PARC, 28 E Maple St, Plainville, CT 06062. The staff at Plainville Funeral Home, 81 Broad Street, Plainville extend their gratitude to the Valeri family for their trust.
