Kurt Dixon Wolfahrt, of Autumn Lake Healthcare, New Britain, CT, died on Sunday, February 8, 2026, just one week shy of his 72nd birthday, after a long illness.
Kurt was born in Biddeford, Maine to Dr. Eugene P. and Betty Shirk Wolfahrt, along with his twin sister, Kim. His formative years were spent in Saco, Maine with his four siblings. Kurt often said that his Dad was his best friend, and together, if it had a motor, they could fix or build it.
He graduated from Appleton Academy, shortly after his father’s death, and then from Champlain College, having majored in criminal justice. He went on to serve in the United States Air Force, touring the world as an MP. Once he left the Air Force he settled in and around New Britain, CT, where he worked as a laborer for several local companies.
Kurt is survived by his brother Dean (Gail), and sisters Kim (Denis), Erica (Guy), of Maine, and Shelley (Steven) of Florida.
Kurt is also survived by his children Jason Wolfahrt (Marie) and Jamie Wroblewski (Joe). Additionally, he leaves four grandchildren, Katlyn (Christopher), Jayden (Chad), Lyla Carpio, and Robbie Voisine. Kurt is also survived by a niece and several nephews. He was looking forward to his first great-grandchild, due in July.
A private graveside service is planned for late spring. He will be buried with his parents at Laurel Hill Cemetery in Saco, ME. The staff at Plainville Funeral Home, 81 Broad Street, Plainville extend their appreciation to the Wolfahrt family for their trust.
