Kathleen Frances Brauns

Kathleen Frances Brauns of Plainville, age 74, died Saturday (November 15, 2025) at Autumn Lake Healthcare. Kathleen was born on May 11, 1951 in Springfield, MA to the late Bernice Cignoli and Johann Bystrzynski. She was predeceased by her brother Ronald. She is survived by her children David and Jason, their father Les; her brothers Steve and Joseph; her sister-in-law, Patti (wife of Joseph); and her nephews Travis and Logan.

Kathy loved to learn and graduated from what was at the time Saint Joseph College in 1986. She went on to work as a computer programmer at Otis Elevator and the UConn Health Center.

Her interests included reading, animals, math, music, technology, stamps, LEGO, and tracing her family history. She also enjoyed fixing things, something she inherited from her beloved grandmother Frances Guillet.

Kathy was a wonderful person and an amazing mother who sacrificed so much for her children. We are better people because of what she taught us. She will be missed beyond measure.
