Josephine D'Addese Obituary

Josephine A. D’Addese, 98, of Plainville, passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 7, 2024 at Ingraham Manor in Bristol.

Josephine was born on September 4, 1925 at home in Plainville, CT daughter to the late Giovanna (DeAngelis) and Marcello Joseph D’Addese. Lifelong resident of Plainville, Josephine attended local schools and graduated from Plainville High School. She found solace in reading and enjoyed traveling, often visiting the casinos. In addition, she enjoyed cooking, especially her famous deviled eggs and potato salad. Known for her sassy demeanor, unwavering determination, and fiercely independent spirit, Josephine touched the lives of all who had the pleasure of knowing her. Her sharp wit and lively personality brought joy and laughter to those around her, creating countless moments that will be forever treasured.

Josephine is survived by her brother, Anthony D’Addese; her nieces and nephews, Jacqueline D’Addese, Kathleen Joslyn, Joseph D’Addese and his wife, Yvonne, Jacqueline Dionne, Karen and her husband, Maurice Ouellette, and Stewart Schwab; her great nieces and nephews, Krysten and her husband, James Robbins, Stephen Joslyn and his wife, Robyne, Sarah D’Addese, Jennifer Aquino, and Robbie Ouellette; and her great-great nieces and nephews, Grady and Kinley Joslyn, Ryleigh and Landon Robbins. Josephine was predeceased by her sister and best friend, Mary D’Addese; her brother, Harry D’Addese and his wife, Margaret (Penny); her sister-in-law, Frances D’Addese; and her nieces, Susan Schwab and Camille Graziano.

Josephine’s family would like to extend their appreciation to Josephine’s homecare aide, Cathy Marandino, for the support, love and exceptional care she provided for many years. Special thanks to Josephine’s friends, Lisa Rondini, Lucille Levesque, Diane and Camille Albert, and Ziggy and Barbara Bartnik, as well as the Plainville Police Officers and EMT’s, who have all helped in Josephine’s well-being and care.
