Joseph Lorenzo Babin, 82, of Plainville, passed away peacefully on May 9, 2026 at the Hospital of Central CT- New Britain General Campus.
Joseph was born on August 27, 1943, in Fort Kent, Maine son to the late Alvey and Juliette (Voisine) Babin. He explored many different hobbies throughout his life, always eager to try something new, though he rarely settled on just one pursuit for long. He especially enjoyed playing pool and cards, and he looked forward to attending Sunday services at Faith Bible Church, as well as the coffee and fellowship shared afterward. Prior to retirement, he worked as a machinist at Pratt & Whitney, where he dedicated many years of hard work and skills. Joseph served in the US Army as a Medic.
Joseph is survived by his wife, Betty (Marquis) Babin, his son, Scott Babin, his sisters, Simone Paradis and Rinette Yanez, his brother, James Babin and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brothers, Patrick and Kenneth Babin, and his sister, Mae Gendron.
A Memorial Service will be held at the Faith Bible Church, 168 Unionville Avenue, Plainville, CT 06062 at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Joseph may be made to ASPCA by going to https://www.aspca.org/. The staff at Plainville Funeral Home, 81 Broad Street, Plainville extend their appreciation to the Babin family for their trust.
