JoAnne Silveri Obituary

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of JoAnne Silveri, 84 of Plainville, affectionately known by her loved ones as a devoted mother, grandmother, and a dedicated nurse. JoAnne passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 17, 2024 at the Hospital of Central CT New Britain General Campus.

JoAnne was born on March 4, 1940, in New Britain, CT daughter to the late Joseph Kuzia Sr. and Robina (Cashman) Kuzia. Following graduation from New Britain High School, JoAnne followed her calling in the nursing profession and attended the New Britain General Hospital School of Nursing. JoAnne's commitment to serving others shone brightly throughout her career as a nurse at New Britain General Hospital. Her compassion and expertise touched the lives of countless patients over the span of 30 years, leaving a lasting impact on all those she cared for.

JoAnne's love for the beach and her cherished trips to Old Saybrook were integral parts of her life. She was a passionate animal lover who found joy and companionship in the company of her many canine friends over the years. JoAnne was known for her passion for UCONN women's basketball and her unwavering admiration for Tom Brady. Her enthusiasm for sports brought joy and excitement to those around her. JoAnne found immense joy in her family and cherished every moment spent with her grandchildren, with a special place in her heart for her only great-granddaughter, Aspen.

JoAnne leaves behind her loving daughter, Maria DiMauro and her partner Troy LaMontagne, her beloved grandchildren, Ashley DiMauro and her boyfriend John Staton and Sal DiMauro and his girlfriend Miranda Batdorf, the light of her life, her one and only great granddaughter Aspen DiMauro, and her brother Ronald Kuzia and his wife Christine. She was predeceased by her brother Joseph Kuzia Jr. and is survived by Joseph's wife Halina Kuzia. She also is survived by her nieces and nephews, Kayla Gibson and her husband Nate and their daughter Addison, Kacey Kuzia, Christopher Kuzia and his wife Kaitlyn, Kevin Kuzia and his wife Beth, Kyle Kuzia and his fiancé Julianne and Matthew Kuzia.

Family and friends are welcome to gather on Wednesday, July 24, 2024 from 9 AM to 10:30 AM at the Plainville Funeral Home, 81 Broad Street, Plainville. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday at 11 AM at Sacred Heart Church, 158 Broad St, New Britain, CT 06053. Burial will follow at Sacred Heart Cemetery in New Britain. Donations in memory of JoAnne may be made to the CT Humane Society, 701 Russell Rd, Newington, CT 06111.
